The municipal administration of Asunción has undertaken significant road infrastructure projects. In early August, the city completed a 16-block resurfacing of General Díaz/Azara street between Avenida Colón and Tacuary. This project, costing approximately 3.5 billion guaraníes, involved the application of 595 tonnes of asphalt and 775 tonnes of hydraulic concrete to improve safety and durability for heavy traffic. Following this completion, the municipality began new roadwork on San Estanislao Street as part of the ‘ASU 400 Cuadras Road Plan’. This intervention covers approximately 250 meters from Costanera Norte toward Artigas Avenue, requiring traffic coordination by the Municipal Transit Police due to a lack of alternative routes in the immediate area. As of mid-August, the municipality continues to focus on this plan, specifically targeting the paving and drainage of San Estanislao street to establish a connection between Costanera Norte and Avenida Artigas.
