The operational plan for the Athens tram network was implemented on September 7. As planned, the reinforced schedule in Attica aims to reduce waiting times and increase frequency for approximately 55,000 daily passengers. To support these service levels, the number of trams in simultaneous circulation has increased from 23 to 27, supported by the hiring of new drivers. On Line 6 (Syntagma-Pikrodaphni), morning peak intervals (07:30–10:30) have been reduced from 9 minutes to 7.5 ~~minutes.~~ minutes by increasing the number of trams from 10 to 12. During the afternoon peak (15:30–18:30), one additional tram will run, reducing intervals from 9 minutes to 8 minutes and 10 seconds. Total daily trips on this line will rise from 232 to 244. On Line 7 (Asklepieio ~~Voulas-Sef), average intervals~~ Voula-Sef), two additional trams have ~~decreased~~ been deployed on the section between Asklepieio Voula and Akti Poseidonou. This reduces the average waiting time from 12 minutes to 9 minutes and 50 ~~seconds. To support these service levels, the number of trams in simultaneous circulation has increased~~ seconds during both morning and afternoon peak periods. Daily trips on Line 7 will increase from 23 189 to ~~27.~~ 205.
