In early October 2026, various athletic events across Latin America and Spain integrated music and community engagement. In Chile and Mexico, marathons and recreational races, such as the Itaú Maratón de Viña and the VaqueRun Morelia, featured live musical performances to create festive atmospheres for participants. By mid-October, the scope of regional athletic activities expanded to include charity and inclusive events. In Guatemala, races were held to support neurological institutes and promote inclusion for people with disabilities. Other regional activities included the “We All Run” event in El Salvador, the 71st Rover Marathon in Mexico, and various races in Costa Rica, Spain, and Argentina focused on themes such as sustainable mobility, Hispanic identity, and tourism. During the same period, several charity sporting events in Spain were organized to fund medical research and social causes. In Huete, the eighth Marcha Solidaria was scheduled for October 18 to benefit pediatric cancer research at the Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid. In Herencia, the fifth edition of the Run Like a Hero race aimed to raise 25,000 euros for research into Phelan-McDermid syndrome, offering participants 5km or 10km runs or a “kilometer 0” donation option. Further efforts included the second Workout to Help Games in Benalmádena, a family-oriented event to raise funds for the Association of Pediatric Oncology Volunteers of Málaga (AVOI), and the XII Carrera Solidaria ‘La Vuelta al Cole de Uno entre cien mil’ in Talavera de la Reina, which involved schoolchildren to support research against childhood leukemia.
