Italy is scheduled to host several major athletic and cycling competitions in early October 2026. In Ronchis, the 4th Granpremio Comune di Ronchis will feature the Italian Absolute Paracycling Championships for Cyclocross and MTB, coinciding with the town’s 800th anniversary. Organized by PittaBike, the event features Paralympic champion Michele Pittacolo as a promoter and brand ambassador. Races are scheduled to be broadcast on Canale 77 and via streaming. In Piedmont, the Weekend Reale in Venaria Reale is expected to attract approximately 10,000 participants. The schedule includes the Corsa del Principino & Family on Saturday and the second edition of the Maratona Reale on Sunday. The certified marathon course covers 42.195 km through the Gardens of the Reggia di Venaria and La Mandria Natural Park. Other available distances include a 30 km race, a half marathon, and a 10 km run. The Italian 10 km road running championships were held in Grado on October 4. Organized by Asd Keep Moving, the event utilized a 2.5 km circuit completed four times along the island’s main streets. Approximately one thousand runners participated, competing for Absolute, U23, U20, and U18 titles. Konjoneh Maggi, representing Atletica Casone Noceto, secured the men’s absolute national title with a time of 28’36’’, finishing ahead of Francesco Guerra and Luca Alfieri. In the women’s category, Elvaine Nimbona of the Caivano Runners took the title with a time of 32’45’’. Notable guests in attendance included Olympic marathon champion Stefano Baldini and European gold medalist Anna Incerti. Upcoming events include the historic Cross Country 7 Campanili running race in Cavaria con Premezzo on October 18, 2026. This competition, established in 1914, features a 15 km course connecting seven bell towers across several locations, including Cavaria, Santo Stefano, and Cajello.
