The Association of Legends of Atlético Madrid, now about 80 former players, has widened its aid for retirees. It offers financial assistance, a club‑appointed psychologist and runs reminiscence workshops in senior centres, while organising friendly matches such as a recent game against Real Sociedad. Upcoming programmes include anti‑gambling and social‑media risk workshops, communication courses and formal recognitions for historic figures. In June the club unveiled a revamped Paseo de Leyendas at the Metropolitano, voting in 17 icons – Torres, Aragonés, Futre, Simeone and others – with the Social Commission reserving a future plaque for Antoine Griezmann, who left as the all‑time leading scorer. Griezmann terminated his Atlético contract and signed a 2027‑28 deal with MLS side Orlando City. He also became a shareholder in Danish fintech Flatpay. He made his MLS debut on 22 July 2026 at PayPal Park, scoring the opener in a 4‑0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes and pledging to mentor younger teammates. The victory moved Orlando within two points of the playoff race. In the 2026 Leagues Cup Griezmann opened the scoring against Mexican club Monterrey, earning MVP honours as Orlando won 2‑1. He reiterated his aim to capture the MLS title and help the Lions compete at the highest level. On 6 August 2026, Orlando City again faced Monterrey in the Leagues Cup opening round at the Inter&Co Stadium. Griezmann struck first in the 27th minute, later winning a penalty that Tyrese Spicer converted. He also assisted Spicer’s goal and was named match MVP. The game drew over 25,000 spectators, and interim coach Martin Perelman praised the team’s effort and atmosphere.
