AUR party internal intimidation incident

Overview

Marius Lulea, a co-founder of the AUR party and critic of leader George Simion, reported a series of intimidation tactics to the police after discovering a pig head at his residence in Tunari, Ilfov. Lulea characterized the incident as a death threat and noted that similar objects and threatening stickers were found at his former company and on his vehicle.

While George Simion denied involvement and party deputy Andrei Gușă suggested the claims were a manipulation by the ‘Parallel State’, the situation shifted when AUR parliamentary advisor Adrian Jucătoru confessed to the act via video. Jucătoru claimed the incident was staged to compromise Simion and force a leadership change, alleging the action was induced by AUR deputy Ariadna Cîrligeanu.

Following Jucătoru’s confession, further details emerged regarding the alleged plot. Jucătoru claimed he involved members of Simion’s family to make the provocation appear more credible. Ariadna Cîrligeanu has since countered these claims, stating she was ‘negatively influenced’ by Lulea during a period of dissatisfaction with party decisions, and she further alleged that Simion’s brother-in-law was involved in the incident. The General Prosecutor’s Office has taken over the investigation into the threats.
