Recent reports highlight successful ram sales for Poll Merino studs in Australia. In August, the Glenlea Park Poll Merino stud held its 50th annual ram sale in South Australia. The event saw 101 of 109 heavy cutting rams sold, with an average price of $3,321. The highest price recorded was $16,000 for an AI-bred ram. Following this, the Ouyen-based Tamaleuca Poll Merino stud reported record results at its on-farm sale. The stud achieved an average sale price of $2,223 per ram, which was an increase of $464 compared to the previous year. The sale included 64 rams and was followed by a private treaty sale of 22 additional rams. In September 2026, the Moorundie stud achieved a record-breaking private sale of $100,000 at the Royal Adelaide Show for a ram identified as Moorundie EL168. The purchase was made through a joint arrangement by the Banavie, Marnoo, and Charinga studs, who will share a half share with Manunda stud. Stud principals Geoff and Bernadette Davidson noted strong interest in the 16.9 micron ram, a grandson of Moorundie 62-001, which sold for $50,000 in 2023.
