Austrian Frauen Bundesliga season progression
Overview
The ADMIRAL Frauen Bundesliga season resumed with its 10th matchday, signaling the start of the second half of the preliminary round after an international break. Early fixtures featured high-stakes matchups, including a top-of-the-table clash between league leaders SKN St. Pölten and FK Austria Wien, as well as a contest between SCR Altach and second-place SK Sturm Graz.
Following these matches, Red Bull Salzburg secured a dominant victory against SPG Südburgenland/TSV Hartberg. The match was noted for “controversial refereeing decisions” and challenges faced by the Südburgenland side due to player suspensions.
Recent results in the tenth round have shifted the league standings. SK Sturm Graz moved to the top of the table after a 2-0 victory over SCR Altach, with goals from Laura Krumböck and an own goal by Flavia Lüscher.
FK Austria Wien climbed to second place following a 3-0 win against SKN St. Pölten. Goals were scored by Patricia Pfanner and Modesta Uka, alongside an own goal by Fanny Lüscher. Austria Wien now sits one point behind Sturm Graz, though the leaders have played one additional match. Additionally, in the Linz city derby, LASK-Frauen secured a 3-0 home victory against SPG Kleinmünchen/BW Linz.
In recent developments, SG Steyr suffered a 9-0 defeat against Ottensheim, a result attributed to a depleted roster.
