Autism accessibility initiatives in Mato Grosso football
Overview
The Mato Grosso State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Citizenship (Setasc-MT), supported by Cuiabá Esporte Clube, has implemented initiatives to provide accessible viewing spaces for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) during Brazilian Serie B Championship matches at Arena Pantanal.
In October 2026, the ‘Autism Box’ (Camarote dos Autistas) was established for the match between Cuiabá Esporte Clube and Avaí Futebol Clube. Under the SER Família Inclusivo program, ten winners were selected to attend, each permitted two free companions. Access requires a valid Autism Identification Card (CIA) and registration in the FacePass facial recognition system.
A similar initiative was repeated for the match between Cuiabá Esporte Clube and São Bernardo Esporte Clube, where ten winners holding CIA cards were granted access to an exclusive VIP box designed for neurodivergent individuals, also utilizing the FacePass Brasil system for entry.
