Automotive manufacturers Opel and Alfa Romeo have announced upcoming debuts for the 2026 Paris Motor Show, scheduled for October 12–18. Opel is expanding its ‘Grand Sport Electric’ (GSE) philosophy to the Astra model with the Astra GSE Line. This sportier compact model is designed to replace the existing GS trim level. Unlike previous GSE models like the Mokka and Corsa, which were exclusively electric, the Astra GSE Line will offer a variety of powertrain options, including diesel, internal combustion, mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric engines. A special motor option is expected to deliver 206 kW (280 hp). The vehicle features enhanced aesthetic details such as GSE Line branding on the bumpers, unique light elements on the Opel Vizor, and 17 or 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The interior will include a digital cockpit with dual 10-inch screens and distinctive bright yellow stitching. A market launch is expected in spring 2027. Opel also plans to showcase the production Corsa GSE, the final design of the GSE 27FE Formula E racer for the 2026-2027 season, and a high-performance Astra GSE electric model capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.
