Hirosaki City has introduced various seasonal offerings during the autumn period. Local agriculture is highlighted through an unmanned sales stall near Dotemachi Community Park, which provides seasonal produce such as Japanese and European pears, plums, edamame, and various apple products. Additionally, the Hirosaki Castle Chrysanthemum and Autumn Foliage Festival is scheduled for late October and early November at Hirosaki Park. The event showcases autumn colors from maple and cherry trees alongside a large-scale flower art installation of the White Tiger, Byakko. This installation, created by artist Yoshie Abe and local craftsmen, incorporates traditional Tsugaru bamboo basketry and nightly projection mapping. Other festival features include themed floral displays and bamboo lighting areas. On October 30, the Hirosaki Castle Chrysanthemum and Autumn Leaves Festival officially opened. The event now features a large flower art installation titled ‘Kinshu Hakko’, which is a five-meter-tall structure constructed using traditional Neputa techniques. Visitors can view approximately 3,700 cherry and maple trees, with peak autumn colors expected around November 3.
