The Friuli Venezia Giulia region is hosting various seasonal tourism events throughout October 2026. Early in the month, the Castelli Aperti event features sixteen locations, including Aquileia, Spilimbergo, and Valvasone Arzene. Due to the geographic spread from the coast to the Pordenone area, visitors are advised to select specific territorial groups rather than attempting to visit all sites in one day. Gastronomic highlights include the 40th Sagra della Castagna in Mezzomonte di Polcenigo, the Festa della Zucca in Cividale del Friuli, and the 9th Festa della Zucca at Fattoria Dorigo in Maniago. For the Sagra della Castagna in Mezzomonte di Polcenigo, organizers have indicated a shuttle bus service departing from Gorgazzo to assist visitors. The Sagra della Castagna also takes place in Paluzza on select weekends. In Udine, the Ein Prosit festival runs from October 14 to 18, featuring tastings and culinary discussions. Environmental and cultural events include the second edition of Verde Capitale 2026 in Gorizia from October 13 to 18, themed ‘City of parks and bees,’ which focuses on biodiversity and climate change. During the weekend of October 24 and 25, the ‘Autunno Medievale’ in Venzone features medieval reenactments, traditional crafts, and historical markets. In Codroipo, the historic Fiera di San Simone offers craft markets and musical tributes, while Fiume Veneto hosts the AgriFlumen agricultural fair. Other regional activities include hiking in Stolvizza, wine tastings in the Collio area, and wine tastings in Grado and olive grove walks in Rosignano Solvay. Looking ahead to November, the 4th edition of the Festival delle Dimore Storiche will take place on November 7 and 8. Organized by the ADSI FVG section, the event opens 16 private residences—including villas, palaces, and fortified houses across the plains of Friuli, Gorizia, Pordenone, and Udine—for guided tours, concerts, exhibitions, and tastings.
