Following the reopening of Maiquetía International Airport on September 1, which began using temporary terminals after earthquake damage, airlines have expanded service between Venezuela and Colombia. On September 16, LATAM Airlines Colombia increased its Bogotá–Caracas–Bogotá service to daily flights. CEO Erika Zarante described the expansion as a step toward consolidating regional connectivity. Additionally, the airline Wingo resumed direct flights between Caracas and Medellín on September 7, operating three times weekly. Wingo Vice President of Commercial and Planning Jorge Jiménez identified Venezuela as a strategic market for the company’s international connectivity strategy. By late September, Wingo expanded its presence by offering over 14,000 seats for the remainder of 2026 on its Caracas–Medellín route to support business and tourism. Furthermore, LATAM Airlines is evaluating the establishment of a Venezuelan subsidiary to manage domestic routes connecting cities including Caracas, Maracaibo, and Valencia.
