The Wildwoods region in New Jersey is preparing for several aviation-themed events and commemorative ceremonies in September 2026. The Wildwoods Air Show is scheduled for September 12–13 and will include a patriotic commemoration for the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Memorial ceremonies are planned for September 11 across Downtown Wildwood, North Wildwood, and Wildwood Crest. The air show lineup features the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team and the New Jersey Air National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing. Recent updates to the flying program specify that performances will run from noon to 3 p.m. both days and will also include the New Jersey Air National Guard’s F-16 and a MiG-17. Spectators can access the show via free general admission on the beach or boardwalk. Additionally, the NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum will host AirFest 2026 from September 3 to September 6 at Cape May Airport. This event will showcase historic military aircraft, including the WWII combat veteran C-47 ‘Placid Lassie’, a reproduction of the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter, and aircraft highlighting Pacific theater history such as the TBM Avenger and a Japanese A6M Zero replica.
