In early July 2026 a detailed review of the AVM FritzBox 4630 confirmed its role as a standalone Wi‑Fi 7 router for users with existing cable, DSL, fiber or Starlink connections. The device offers dual‑band 2.4 GHz/5 GHz operation with up to 3.5 Gbps theoretical throughput, a 2.5 Gbps WAN port, multiple LAN ports, USB‑3.0, DECT telephone support and mesh‑compatible firmware. The accompanying QoS guide explains a three‑level traffic‑prioritisation scheme (real‑time, priority, background) that applies to IPv4 traffic and is disabled when the box functions as a mesh repeater or on a guest network. On 19 July 2026 German ISP 1&1 launched the FRITZ!Box 7620 as its new standard router for DSL and fiber customers, replacing the older 7520. It implements Wi‑Fi 7 on the 5 GHz band (up to 1.44 Gbps) and 2.4 GHz band (688 Mbps), provides four gigabit LAN ports, an updated USB controller, mesh integration and AVM’s telephone functions. The unit is offered exclusively as a lease through 1&1 for €4.99 per month plus activation and shipping fees. The rollout continued on 2 August 2026 with the introduction of the FRITZ!Box 5630, a compact fiber‑ready router that integrates a GPON/AON modem supporting up to 2.5 Gbps downstream. It delivers Wi‑Fi 7 2 × 2 MIMO performance of up to 2.88 Gbps on the 5 GHz band, a 2.5 Gbps 2.5‑Gbps WAN/LAN port, three gigabit LAN ports, USB‑3.0, an integrated DECT base station and the full FRITZ!OS feature set. Priced at €289, it is sold through German retail channels with a five‑year warranty, extending AVM’s portfolio of high‑performance Wi‑Fi 7 hardware for both consumer and ISP deployments.
