AXA Mansard has launched a pan-African brand campaign in Nigeria titled ‘Culture of Care’. The initiative is designed to increase insurance penetration by aligning formal financial protection with traditional African values of community support, empathy, and the philosophy of Ubuntu. CEO Kunle Ahmed noted that Nigeria’s insurance penetration remains below one percent, stating the company seeks to help Nigerians view insurance as a “practical expression of care rather than a mere expense.” The campaign further emphasizes the link between financial security, healthcare access, and national economic development. Deji Tunde-Anjous, CEO of AXA Mansard Investment Limited, noted that while many Nigerians practice care through supporting family, there is a critical need for long-term financial preparedness. Additionally, Tope Adeniyi, CEO of AXA Mansard Health, highlighted that quality healthcare drives human progress and workforce productivity, noting that healthcare costs often disrupt livelihoods. In addition to the marketing campaign, the company announced plans to strengthen its capital base. Shareholders are scheduled to vote on a special resolution during the company’s 34th Annual General Meeting on October 9, 2026, to raise up to ₦18.3 billion through a rights issue of ordinary shares.
