Bahraini leadership has engaged in high-level diplomatic discussions focused on regional security and bilateral cooperation. In late July, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held a telephone conversation with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. This marked their first public contact since the October 7, 2023, attacks. The leaders discussed regional developments and reaffirmed cooperation under the Abraham Accords to promote stability in the Middle East. Following this, in mid-August, King Hamad met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. Their discussions centered on strengthening fraternal ties, economic development, and addressing shared regional challenges to ensure Middle East security. During this meeting, King Hamad expressed appreciation for the UAE’s support in strengthening Bahrain’s ability to manage various challenges. In early September, President Al Nahyan met again with King Hamad, joined by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The leaders reviewed methods to enhance cooperation regarding shared developmental priorities and mutual interests, while addressing regional and international issues of common concern to underscore the partnership between the UAE and Bahrain.
