In July 2026 Bosnian‑Herzegovinian director Aida Begić won Begić’s project **Zrak u boci** secured the TRT International Co‑Production Award at Turkey’s 12 Punto platform, judged by a panel led by Oscar‑winner Asghar Farhadi. The co‑production links Bosnia‑Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Turkey, and filming is slated to start before year‑end. Earlier accolades for “Zrak u boci,” highlighting the region’s collaborative strength. Shortly after, project included the LGBT‑themed drama “Zečji nasip” faced a broadcast hurdle when Slovenia’s RTV Slovenija declined to purchase rights. Support for the tour came from backed by Creative Europe‑MEDIA, the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Croatian Radiotelevision, the City of Split Europe‑MEDIA and the Serbian Film Center. “Koke” has also circulated internationally, screening regional film bodies. The film’s international profile grew with screenings at the Rotterdam Film Festival Rotterdam, Kraków, Los Angeles and later a regional‑premiere slot at festivals in Kraków the Sarajevo Film Festival, where a packed Zadar showing led to a post‑screening discussion. It now competes for the Sarajevo audience award and Los Angeles before its national enjoys a nationwide theatrical rollout run across Croatia. These developments illustrate how celebrated Balkan co‑productions continue to garner prestigious awards while navigating diverse distribution pathways throughout the region.
