Humanitarian and health-focused initiatives have emerged across the Balkans, targeting vulnerable populations and preventive medical care. Initial efforts centered on social support and humanitarian aid. In Belgrade, the ‘Dare to Dream’ campaign provided household appliances, hygiene products, and toys to women and children at a safe house. In Mostar, fundraising activities were held to support the construction of ‘Kuća nade’ (House of Hope), a facility designed to provide security and accommodation for individuals undergoing oncological treatment. Subsequent activities expanded to include regional public health awareness and specialized medical support. In Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, institutions organized cancer screenings and cardiovascular health lectures. Concurrently, efforts to improve palliative care and pain management were highlighted in Croatia, specifically through programs for patients with incurable diseases and forums addressing the mental and physical health of veterans and their families. Recent initiatives have further focused on women’s safety and medical prevention. In Bar, Montenegro, an interactive panel titled ‘For a Better and Higher Quality Life of Women in Our Community’ addressed legal rights for victims of violence and the psychological necessity of restoring self-esteem. In Belgrade, the ‘Women's Health of Serbia’ conference, part of the ‘Pantenol: Pink October’ campaign, was organized to focus on breast cancer prevention, cardiovascular diseases, and menopause through early detection and healthy lifestyle habits. Newer developments emphasize targeted screenings and community-driven awareness. In Bijeljina, Sveti Vračevi Hospital conducted kidney cancer screenings for retirees, while health centers in Sremska Mitrovica and Požega focused on cardiovascular health and World Heart Day. Palliative care efforts continue in Vukovar-Srijem and Međimurje, focusing on pain management and social support. Cancer prevention campaigns have intensified, notably through Croatia’s ‘Budi mRAK’ initiative providing HPV education and vaccinations.
