Ballando con le stelle cast and performance updates

The Italian dance competition ‘Ballando con le stelle’ has seen various casting and performance updates for its 2026 season. Gianluigi ‘Jimmy’ Ghione, a veteran reporter for ‘Striscia la notizia’, is confirmed to join the cast as a contestant.

During the October 24 episode on Rai1, actress Monica Guerritore received a standing ovation and full marks from the judges for her Charleston performance with partner Luca Urso. The performance was noted as an emotional moment, as her husband, former Rai president Roberto Zaccaria, was present in the audience. The couple shared details regarding their relationship, which began in 2001 and led to their marriage in 2010.

Guerritore described the reception as a “true rebirth” following her recent battle with cancer and chemotherapy. In subsequent interviews, she discussed the possibility of appearing on the show without her wig, depending on the artistic direction of her performances, while also reflecting on the challenges for mature women in the entertainment industry.

The episode also featured the scheduled reunion of former competitors Federica Nargi and Bianca Guaccero, who appeared together as guest dancers. This appearance follows the 2024 season where Guaccero secured a victory alongside Giovanni Pernice, while Nargi finished in second place behind Federica Pellegrini—a result that reportedly “sparked significant public debate and criticism from dance professionals and judges at the time.”

The current season involves several interconnected dynamics: Giovanni Pernice is serving as the dance instructor for Noemi Bocchi, while Alessandro Matri, Nargi’s husband, is a contestant competing with Giada Lini.
