Following the conclusion of the World Series, the Baltimore Orioles have made several roster and financial decisions regarding player contracts. The club declined a $25 million mutual option for right-hander Zach Eflin for the 2027 season, a move prompted by Eflin requiring Tommy John surgery after making only one start in 2026. Eflin, who joined the team on a $10 million one-year deal, had a contract that included the mutual option or a $2 million buyout. Additionally, the Orioles reportedly declined a $20 million club option for Luis Robert Jr. due to injury concerns. This decision will result in a $2 million buyout and make the 29-year-old a free agent. In other transactions, the team signed outfielder Rece Hinds to a split contract for 2027, which provides a salary slightly above the major league minimum while in the majors and $180,000 while in the minors. Ahead of an expected December 1 labor lockout, the Orioles also declined a $7.5 million option for Ryan Mountcastle and a $3.5 million option for left-hander Dietrich Enns, the latter of which includes a $125,000 buyout. The team let outfielder Leody Taveras enter free agency after declining to meet his estimated arbitration value. Furthermore, the organization extended a $23.15 million qualifying offer to left-hander Trevor Rogers, who must decide on the offer by November 17. Other players, including Heston Kjerstad, Yohel Pozo, and Yosver Zueleta, have also become free agents.
