The Bank of Utah Championship at Black Desert Resort began with Zach Bauchou taking the outright lead after a career-best 9-under-par 62. Austin Smotherman secured his first career PGA Tour victory, victory in his 100th career start, finishing with a tournament-record score of 26 under par (258). Smotherman won by two strokes over runner-up Doug Ghim. During the final stages, Smotherman faced a challenge on the 13th hole when a bunker error resulted in a double bogey, but he narrowing his lead to one stroke. The victory earned Smotherman US$1.08 million, a two-year PGA Tour exemption, and invitations to the Masters, the PGA Championship, and The Players Championship. The win also improved his standing in the FedEx Cup Fall Series, with projections placing him at No. 51. 51 and positioning him to qualify for the 2027 Championship Series.
