Banque du Caire has announced plans to launch an initial public offering (IPO) on the Egyptian Exchange, involving the sale of 30% of its capital. The offering consists of approximately 4.575 billion existing shares held by the majority shareholder, Banque Misr, rather than a capital increase to fund the bank directly. The sale will be conducted via a secondary offering, with 95% of the shares allocated to private placements for qualified investors and 5% for a public offering. The indicative price range is set between 4.82 and 5.30 Egyptian pounds per share, bringing the total estimated value of the offering to approximately 24.25 billion Egyptian pounds. As of October 18, 2026, the subscription process has commenced. Subscription orders for qualified investors are scheduled from October 19 to October 23, 2026, while retail subscriptions are set to continue through October 28. The final price will be determined by October 26 following a book-building process. CI Capital and EFG Hermes are serving as joint global coordinators and bookrunners. Trading on the Egyptian Exchange is expected to begin in November 2026.
