The Belgian Pro League is implementing significant structural, visual, and financial changes for the 2026–27 season. Initially, the league announced a comprehensive visual rebrand featuring a minimalist monochrome logo and the tagline “Live The Game”. This new identity is intended to be applied across all professional football competitions in Belgium, including the Jupiler Pro League and the Lotto Women’s Pro League. Alongside the rebrand, the league has transitioned to a new competition format consisting of 18 clubs playing 34 matchdays. This structure removes the previous play-off system, meaning the champion is determined solely by the regular season standings, while the bottom two teams face direct relegation. Financially, the league has settled a legal dispute with DAZN regarding broadcasting revenues for revenues. Following a preliminary ruling that DAZN was only required to pay 85 percent of the 2025–2030 cycle. The agreed sum, a settlement was reached. For the 2026/27 season, the revenue distribution model for the current season now relies on four pillars: sporting criteria, solidarity, viewership ratings, and the number of Belgian-trained players. Early results in the new season show Zulte Waregem leading the standings after a 4-0 victory over SK Beveren. Lommel SK also secured a 4-0 win against KVC Westerlo, marking their first victory since returning to the top flight. Conversely, Westerlo remains without points after three matches, leading coach Issame Charaï to demand “increased intensity and effort” from his squad.
