In late July 2026, entertainer Beyoncé Knowles‑Carter completed the purchase of Moët Hennessy's stake in the SirDavis American Whisky brand, becoming its sole owner. The brand, launched in 2024 and named after her great‑grandfather Davis Hogue, is distilled in Indiana and bottled in Texas. While financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, the acquisition marks a shift for the brand, which was originally a joint venture between the artist and Moët Hennessy, the spirits division of LVMH. The whisky is crafted by distiller Dr Bill Lumsden and features a mash bill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley, matured in sherry casks. It retails for a suggested price of $89 in the United States and is distributed in select international markets, including London, Paris, and Tokyo. The acquisition makes SirDavis a woman‑, family‑ and Black‑owned company. The brand had previously earned top scores at the 2025 New York International Spirits Competition and the 2025 Spirits Business Awards. The deal is part of Moët Hennessy's broader portfolio restructuring and expands Beyoncé’s business interests beyond music and her hair‑care line, Cécred. This buyout allows Beyoncé to maintain full autonomy over her spirits business, distinguishing her professional relationship with LVMH from that of her husband, Jay-Z, who continues a partnership with the conglomerate through the champagne brand Armand de Brignac.
