Bilfinger restructuring and financial outlook

Overview

Industrial services provider Bilfinger SE has initiated a restructuring plan titled ‘Agile’ following business performance that fell below expectations. Citing geopolitical uncertainty and conflict in the Middle East as factors weakening demand, the company announced plans to cut up to 1,500 global jobs. This restructuring is expected to incur one-off costs of approximately 75 million euros in 2026, though the company aims for an annual profit increase of roughly 75 million euros starting in 2028.

In conjunction with these measures, Bilfinger lowered its 2026 revenue guidance to between 5.3 and 5.7 billion euros and revised its expected EBITA margin downward to 3.2–3.6 percent. Following this second profit warning of 2026, UBS analyst Olivier Calvet lowered the company’s stock price target from 102 euros to 72 euros. While maintaining a ‘buy’ rating, the analyst noted that frequent earnings forecast corrections have damaged confidence regarding the predictability of the company’s operations.
