Continued multinational analyses reinforce the link between faster biological ageing in younger cohorts and a surge in early‑onset solid tumours. Updated work on the UK Biobank (≈154 000 participants) and the U.S. All of Us programme (≈10 000 participants) shows that people born after 1965 – especially those born in the 1990s – exhibit biological‑age scores up to 92 % higher than their chronological age. Each standard‑deviation increase in this gap raises the risk of cancers diagnosed before age 55 by roughly 8‑15 %, with organ‑specific ageing (immune‑system, adipose tissue) tied to lung and colorectal tumours respectively. Global data indicate a 79‑24 % rise in cancers diagnosed before age 50 since 1990, driven largely by lung, colorectal, uterine and gastrointestinal cancers. Researchers propose revising screening guidelines to incorporate biological‑age metrics and suggest a “longevity health assessment” at age 50 that combines clinical, functional and biomarker tests. Lifestyle factors remain central: diet, inactivity, obesity, pollution and stress are repeatedly cited as accelerants of biological ageing. A UK‑based natural‑experiment study links of the 1953 end of sugar rationing examined 64,761 participants born 1951‑1956 and found that early‑life sugar restriction was associated with markedly lower adult cancer incidence (up to 69 % reduction for liver and biliary tract tumours, 36 % for breast cancer) and slower ageing markers (longer telomeres) such as longer leukocyte telomeres and markedly lower adult cancer incidence, underscoring the potential Granzyme B levels. The same cohort showed reduced risk of early nutritional interventions. all‑cause dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, delayed onset by about 2.5 years, and greater grey‑matter volume, partly mediated by lower diabetes and hypertension rates. While causality is not yet proven, the converging evidence calls for preventive strategies that target biological ageing alongside traditional risk‑factor modification.
