Retailers Bipa and Penny are expanding their presence in Romania, specifically targeting the Jumbo Center in Bucharest for new openings in the second half of 2026. The Bipa location will focus on beauty and beauty, personal care care, and household products across approximately 490 square meters, while the Penny unit will provide food retail and proximity shopping services in a 1,380 square meter space. Cushman & Wakefield Echinox acted as the exclusive agent for the leasing strategy at the Jumbo Center. The center, which features Jumbo as its primary anchor tenant, has a total leasable area of 25,700 square meters. These developments are part of a strategy to increase foot traffic at and establish the Jumbo Center, which has recently signed mall as a major retail destination in southwest Bucharest, following the signing of contracts for approximately 9,000 square meters of new tenant space. Beyond the Bucharest project, Bipa is accelerating a broader expansion across various Romanian regions, including Pitești, Năvodari, Pitești (Argeș Mall), Năvodari (Alezzi Towers), Bran, Slobozia, and Sfântu Gheorghe. As part of the REWE Group, Bipa aims to open between 20 and 25 new stores in the country within the year.
