The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has undergone a major organizational reshuffle under National President Nitin Nabin. The reorganization aims to balance experienced leadership with younger members and includes a 33 percent reservation for women in office-bearer positions. Key changes include the appointment of 13 National Vice-Presidents, such as Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Ram Madhav, and Baijayant Panda. Smriti Irani and Vinod Tawde have been named National General Secretaries, while Piyush Goyal serves as National Treasurer. The restructuring also includes 8 National General Secretaries and 16 National Secretaries. A significant shift occurred within the party’s digital operations. After more than a decade in his role, Amit Malviya was removed as the National Convener of the BJP IT Cell. He is replaced by Deepak Mhaske, a former chemistry professor and political organizer from Chhattisgarh, who will serve as the new Social Media Convener alongside co-conveners Priti Gandhi, Shivanand Dwivedi, Alok Bhatt, and Arun Yadav. Anil Baluni remains the Media Convener. Malviya, commenting on the transition, stated that the new appointments come at a “crucial juncture” for the party. This reorganization is intended to strengthen the party ahead of upcoming assembly elections, including the 2027 polls in states such as Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the new team aims to enhance social outreach through the appointment of leaders for various morchas, including OBC, minority, and SC/ST wings.
