Blaupunkt has announced the BodyTag, a smart wearable sensor designed for infants and toddlers to replace traditional camera-based baby monitors. The device can be attached to a diaper to track vital signs, such as heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and fever, sending alerts directly to a parent’s smartphone. To prioritize data privacy and minimize the risk of remote hacking, the BodyTag utilizes a direct Bluetooth connection rather than relying on Wi-Fi, cameras, or cloud-based internet services. This approach ensures that sensitive data remains local to the user’s device. Blaupunkt Health plans is set to showcase debut the BodyTag at the IFA 2026 trade show in Berlin, which is scheduled to take place from for September 4 to 8. The device will be showcased alongside other major industry advancements in artificial intelligence and smart home ecosystems at the event.
