The Blik payment system has seen significant developments regarding its regulatory status and promotional activities in Poland. The National Bank of Poland (NBP) reclassified Blik as a systemically important retail payment system after data indicated it processed the highest number of payment orders among all retail systems in the country over four reporting quarters. During this period, Euronet Polska also reduced the maximum single cash withdrawal limit for Blik codes at its ATMs and recyclers from 800 PLN to 200 PLN. Subsequently, Polski Standard Płatności launched ‘Zwrotnica Blika’, a lottery running from September 18, 2026, to February 7, 2027. The campaign features a 4.2 million PLN prize pool, offering 4,200 individual prizes of 1,000 PLN. Participants can enter by paying a 1 PLN registration fee, which is donated to the ‘Fundacja Uniwersytet Dzieci’. Qualifying transactions include contactless payments, recurring online payments, and ‘Blik Płacę Później’, though P2P transfers and ATM transactions are excluded. Under the lottery rules, winners are drawn in 12 separate sessions, with 350 prizes awarded each week. The promotion is available to customers of various participating banks, such as mBank, Alior Bank, and ING Bank Śląski. While the lottery is open to minors aged 13 and older with parental consent, each participant is limited to winning a maximum of one prize throughout the campaign.
