New wave band Blondie has announced their twelfth studio album, ‘High Noon’, which is scheduled for release on February 26, 2027, through BMG. This project marks the group’s first studio album of new material in approximately nine years, following 2017’s ‘Pollinator’. The album is noted for its emotional significance, as it contains the final recordings of co-founding drummer Clem Burke, who died from cancer in April 2025 at age 70. Recording sessions for the project began in New York City in 2022 under producer John Congleton, with additional production and mixing by David Wrench. The lead single, ‘Spectral Eyes’, has been released and features guitar work from former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. The 13-track album includes collaborations with various artists, such as Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols, Zach Condon of Beirut, and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius. The album is expected to be available in several formats, including a limited red vinyl edition, cassette, and merchandise bundles.
