The release of the Metroidvania title Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, developed by ArtPlay and published by 505 Games, has been delayed from its initial 2026 target to 2027. Series creator Koji Igarashi confirmed the new schedule. Following the delay announcement, a new gameplay trailer footage was released unveiled during the Xbox TGS Showcase. Showcase and the Tokyo Game Show. The footage highlights the game’s gothic setting in 16th-century England and its prequel status as a prequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The gameplay features game utilizes a 2.5D gothic art style and follows two protagonists, Leonard and Alex, engaging in as they attempt to combat a mysterious figure named Elias and his demonic forces from a floating castle. Gameplay elements showcased include skill-based exploration, crafting, material collection, crafting systems, and tactical combat against demonic bosses. The title is slated for release in 2027 on PC, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
