BMW continues to evolve its M2 platform and transition toward electrification. While the high-performance M2 CS has arrived in Argentina, internal database leaks suggest ongoing development of further performance variants, including potential manual, all-wheel-drive, or CSL models. Parallel to M2 developments, BMW is advancing its Neue Klasse electric strategy. The new iX3 series has launched in Japan as the first commercial model of this era, featuring 800V high-voltage technology, sixth-generation eDrive, and a redesigned vertical kidney grille. The upcoming i3, built on the Neue Klasse architecture, represents a radical design departure from the traditional 3 Series, potentially risking the brand's established visual continuity. Consequently, the current i4 Gran Coupé is expected to be phased out to accommodate the new i3, though the i4 nameplate may eventually return as a dedicated two-door electric coupe or convertible. Recent real-world testing of the iX3 provided practical insights into the platform's performance.
