BMW Motorrad unveils F 450 R and expands F 450 GS models lineup with new RR sportbike

BMW Motorrad has expanded its F 450 family with the unveiling of both the F 450 R naked roadster and the F 450 GS adventure motorcycle. Both models are designed for the A2 license category and utilize a 420cc parallel-twin engine platform manufactured by TVS in India. The engine delivers approximately 35 kW (48 hp) and 43 Nm of torque, with 80% of that torque available from 3,000 rpm. The F 450 R maintains a ready-to-ride weight of 175 kg and is offered in four versions, including M Sport and an Innovation Package. The F 450 GS is available in three versions: Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy. A significant technological feature across the lineup is the ‘Easy Ride Clutch’ (ERC). When paired with the Shift Assistant Pro, this system allows riders to start, stop, and change gears without manual clutch operation. Both motorcycles are equipped with modern electronics, including TFT displays, various riding modes, and premium components from KYB and Brembo. BMW Motorrad has now announced the upcoming international launch of the F 450 RR sportbike, which is scheduled for official unveiling on October 15, 2026. Expected to be marketed globally as a 2027 model, the F 450 RR will utilize the same 420cc parallel-twin engine platform. This new model is expected to feature an inverted fork and a single front brake disc.
