BMW Motorrad is expanding its GS adventure motorcycle lineup to address gaps between existing models. The company is developing a middleweight model, potentially branded as the F 600 GS or F 650 GS, expected around 2028. This model is intended to sit between the F 450 GS and the F 900 GS. While technical specifications for the F 600 GS suggest a 590 cc parallel-twin engine producing approximately 65 HP, recent sightings of a test prototype suggest a possible displacement in the 650 cc to 700 cc range. This prototype features a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel configuration, long-travel suspension, and an X-shaped LED headlight design similar to the R 1300 GS. In the entry-level segment, the F 450 GS is being positioned as a successor to the G310GS. The model features a 420 cc parallel-twin engine delivering 48 HP and 43 Nm of torque, utilizing a 135-degree crank layout to meet European A2 license requirements. It is built on a steel tubular chassis with an estimated weight of 178–180 kg and includes advanced safety features such as a 6-axis IMU, traction control, and cornering ABS. Following showcases in Brazil, BMW Motorrad Argentina officially launched the F 450 GS, offering versions such as Cosmic, Trophy, and Exclusive. The Trophy version features an ‘Easy Ride Clutch (ERC)’ semi-automatic centrifugal clutch, while the Exclusive version includes ‘Shift Assistant Pro’ for clutchless gear changes. The expansion continued into South Korea, where the F 450 GS was launched with two trims: the Exclusive, priced at 12.5 million KRW, and the GS Trophy, priced at 13.5 million KRW. The Korean model includes four riding modes (Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro), ABS Pro, and a 6.5-inch TFT color display. In India, where the F 450 GS is locally produced at the TVS facility in Hosur, prices have increased by up to INR 30,000 across the lineup. The Base model is now INR 4.95 lakh, the Exclusive is INR 5.15 lakh, and the GS Trophy is INR 5.60 lakh.
