Authorities in various Mexican states have reported several separate incidents involving the discovery of deceased individuals. In mid-September, unidentified male bodies were recovered from water bodies in Veracruz and Michoacán. In Veracruz, a man in an advanced state of decomposition was found in the Tecolutla River near Papantla. In Michoacán, a body was discovered in a hydroelectric plant dam in Uruapan, suspected to have been carried there by the Cupatitzio River. By October, additional separate discoveries were reported in different regions. These included an unidentified person found on a path in Tecuala, a 24-year-old woman found dead in her home in the Hipódromo neighborhood, and a decomposed female body discovered in a vacant lot in Reynosa following an anonymous report. On October 11, a new discovery was made in Tecuala, where authorities found a body in a rural area on the path connecting Agua Verde and Sayulilla. While the identity and cause of death are unconfirmed, local speculation suggests the victim may have been “killed and abandoned.” Investigations into the circumstances remain ongoing.
