Boeing has secured significant aircraft orders from major international carriers. Korean Air finalized a $44.8 billion agreement to acquire 103 aircraft, including various 777, 787, and 737 models, alongside an $8.6 billion package for engine services and maintenance. Following negotiations that had been stalled for nearly a year regarding engine maintenance terms, Turkish Airlines finalized an agreement for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Signed in New York during the United Nations General Assembly in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip ~~Erdoğan,~~ Erdoğan and Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stephanie Pope, the deal consists of 100 firm orders for the 737-8 model and 50 options. This marks the largest single-aisle aircraft order in the carrier’s history and provides substitution rights for the Boeing 737-10 to ensure fleet flexibility. The new aircraft are expected to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by approximately 20 percent. This agreement reinforces a long-standing partnership between the two companies, following a 2025 order for 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Additionally, Boeing and Turkish Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding regarding industrial cooperation, intended to foster technological exchange and skill development within the Turkish aviation ecosystem. Deliveries for the new 737 MAX aircraft are scheduled to occur between 2033 and 2037.
