Bollywood celebrity Ganesh Chaturthi observations

Bollywood actors have shared various personal ways of observing the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Actress Urmila Matondkar noted that travel commitments would prevent her from visiting traditional pandals in Mumbai, though she shared wishes for the safety and happiness of others.

Kareena Kapoor Khan shared social media posts showing her family creating an eco-friendly clay idol of Lord Ganesha at home. The images featured her husband, Saif Ali Khan, assisting their son, Jehangir Ali Khan, with the process. Kapoor Khan captioned the post stating the idol was ‘Made by my Jeh Baba’ and expressed wishes for a ‘peaceful and happy Ganesh Chaturthi.’

Actress Soha Ali Khan, her husband Kunal Kemmu, and their daughter Inaaya Naumi Kemmu also observed the festival using eco-friendly methods. The family shared a video of themselves crafting a small clay Ganpati idol. For the immersion ritual, the family placed the idol in a tub of water and flowers at home rather than in a natural water body. After the idol dissolved, the family used the water to nourish plants. Soha Ali Khan described the cycle as moving ‘from our hands to our home, and from our home back to the earth.’
