The Prosecutor's Office for the Organization of the Crime Against the State (POSKOK) is conducting an investigation known as the ‘Munjić and others’ case, or the ‘Spengavanje’ affair, involving allegations of systemic abuse of position and influence peddling within the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Initial reports indicate that Nermin Nikšić, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was questioned regarding allegations that confidential documents from the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office were unauthorizedly shared to undermine investigations. Investigators also identified improper employment practices within the Federal Police Administration (FUP), including the use of messaging apps to facilitate lobbying for specific appointments and the provision of testing questions. As the probe progressed, Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak was also questioned in the capacity of a suspect. The investigation focuses on the roles of several individuals, including former acting FUP director Vahidin Munjić, Muhamed Ohranović, former Chief of Staff Arijana Huseinović-Ajanović, and Police Academy director Ervin Mušinović. The case examines whether political influence was used to manipulate police investigations, hiring, and promotions. Recent developments confirm that both Prime Minister Nikšić and Minister Isak have been questioned by POSKOK as suspects. The probe is specifically examining suspicions of abuse of office, influence peddling, and bribery, with a central focus on the allegedly unlawful appointment of Vahidin Munjić as acting director of the FUP. Authorities are also investigating Muhamed Ohranović for his suspected role as a mediator between the Prime Minister’s office and police structures. POSKOK has granted all suspects additional time to review the evidence.
