Juventus continues to navigate squad changes and injury concerns. Following a 1-0 win against Frosinone, manager Luciano Spalletti criticized striker Randal Kolo Muani for missed opportunities, signaling a need for further attacking reinforcements. Due to long-term injuries to Kenan Yildiz and Jeremie Boga, 19-year-old Kerim Alajbegović has seen an increased role. The Bosnian international, who joined from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth €30 million plus bonuses, has gained significant attention. After scoring in the Europa League against NEC Nijmegen, Alajbegović was nominated for the Ballon d'Or Kopa Trophy and named a Golden Boy finalist. His integration has faced challenges. While he has earned trust through his versatility, some analysts suggest the club risks hindering his growth by forcing immediate action due to injuries rather than allowing for gradual development. Recent match activity has also seen minor setbacks; a substitution during a loss to Sassuolo was attributed to discomfort from contact lenses reacting to stadium lights, and he was recently ruled out of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Nations League match against Poland due to a muscle injury. Despite these hurdles, Alajbegović remains a focal point for the club’s future. Following his return from international duty, medical tests ruled out any structural injuries, though he experienced some fatigue. His role expanded further during a Serie A match against Cagliari, where he recorded his first assist by providing a precise cross for Kolo Muani to equalize. His rise has garnered high-profile recognition. In the Kopa Trophy voting, football legends provided notable support: Roberto Baggio placed Alajbegović third in his selection, ahead of Lamine Yamal, while Luka Modrić ranked him second. Despite finishing seventh in the overall Kopa Trophy rankings, Alajbegović has faced criticism from fans on social media regarding his limited playing time under Spalletti.
