In early August 2026 the rebranded Bosnian top‑flight, now called the WWin league, launched amid a cascade of logistical problems. The Football Federation’s licensing commission declared the grass at Sarajevo’s Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium unplayable after three consecutive Dino Merlin concerts, forcing FK Sarajevo’s opening match against Radnik Bijeljina to be moved to Velež stadium in Mostar. Supporters’ group Horde Zla announced a boycott, blaming club management and municipal authorities. At Grbavica, FK Željezničar opened the season against debutants BSK Banja Luka while grappling with financial strain and a depleted roster: seven of eight summer signings still await playing permits, and key players Collin Seedorf, Matej Cvetanoski and Armin Hodžić are sidelined by injury, with Enes Alić serving a suspension. BSK, making its first top‑tier appearance, are tipped for relegation. On 6 August, Željezničar secured a 2‑1 victory over BSK. A 17‑year‑old Korora headed the opener in the 65th minute, BSK equalised through Čavić two minutes later, and reserve Husković restored the lead five minutes from full‑time. The win came despite the club’s failure to register seven of eight new signings and the exclusion of forward Enes Alić after a disciplinary case. FA Bosnia‑Herzegovina president Vico Zeljković praised the league’s competitiveness and welcomed BSK’s debut. FS BiH president Vico Zeljković welcomed the start, highlighted the return of Čelik and inclusion of BSK, and called for a competitive, well‑attended campaign. Other clubs such as Zrinjski and Čelik discussed squad reinforcements, underscoring a league‑wide atmosphere of rebuilding and uncertainty.
