Following a period of competitive frustration during the Série C quadrangular stage, Botafogo-PB CEO Fillipe Félix announced plans to seek new investors and partners. Félix indicated that preliminary discussions were underway with investment funds in Rio de Janeiro and England, noting that the search for capital was independent of the club’s promotion prospects. Subsequently, midfielder Nenê emerged as the leader of an investor group negotiating to acquire the club’s Football Corporation (SAF). Discussions have been held with Félix, who expressed an intent to sell his stake. The proposed project involves Nenê transitioning from professional play into a prominent administrative role managing football operations, potentially coinciding with his retirement. Investors have reportedly shown interest due to the club’s relatively low debt compared to other Brazilian teams. As the club navigates these structural changes, José Afonso Guedes Pereira has been elected executive president for the 2026–2028 biennium. The administrative transition coincides with shifting dynamics in the SAF sale. Following the expiration of a priority purchase deadline by Eagle Bidco, the club is positioned to finalize an agreement with GDA Luma, led by businessman Gabriel de Alba. This maneuver involves a capital increase that allows the social club to acquire a dominant stake in the SAF, effectively diluting the previous group's participation. Gabriel de Alba, who already manages the football department, has provided approximately $50 million in loans to cover debts and salaries, an amount intended to be offset against the total purchase price.
