Overview

In late July 2026 Czech veterinary officials announced that a sample of pork pâté sold by a hotel in Luhačovice contained botulin toxin produced by *Clostridium botulinum*. The warning initially covered the "Naše vepřová paštika s mandlí" product and urged consumers to avoid eating it and to seek medical care if symptoms appeared.

A few days later, on 3 August, the alert was broadened to include a second variant, "Naše vepřová paštika se zeleným pepřem", and the Slovak Public Health Authority issued a parallel notice for Slovak consumers who might have purchased the same items. Both Czech and Slovak health agencies emphasized safe disposal of the pâtés and prompt medical attention for any signs of botulism.
