Brabus has introduced the Bodo, a limited-production hyper-GT series based on the Aston Martin Vanquish. The vehicle features a custom carbon-fibre body and a modified 5.2-liter biturbo V12 engine producing 1,000 hp and 1,200 Nm of torque, enabling a top speed of 360 km/h. Following an appearance at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Brabus unveiled the Bodo Cabriolet. This open-top version, developed as an independent project to honor founder Bodo Buschmann, utilizes the foundations of an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante. The exterior features an entirely original design manufactured from high-strength carbon fibre at the Brabus facility in Bottrop, Germany, resulting in a vehicle over five meters long. The Cabriolet is powered by the same modified 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering 1,000 hp and 1,200 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds. Key features include an electric fabric roof that operates in under 15 seconds, 22-inch Brabus Monoblock Z-GT forged wheels, and KW adaptive dampers. Aerodynamics are supported by a carbon-fibre front spoiler and an active rear wing that acts as an air brake at speeds above 140 km/h. Developed over two decades by Bodo Buschmann and his son Constantin, the Bodo series is a limited production run. Only 77 units are planned, a figure referencing the brand’s founding year of 1977. The project represents a significant shift for the company, fulfilling a long-standing ambition to move beyond its traditional role as a tuner to develop its own proprietary high-performance models. The black two-plus-two coupe is expected to start at approximately $1.17 million, while the convertible version is expected to cost around $1.7 million.
