In late July 2026 TAP Air Portugal announced a major expansion of its Brazil network, adding weekly flights to Curitiba and São Luís and celebrating six decades of service to the country. Alongside the route growth, TAP launched the TAP BTG Pactual Black credit card, converting everyday spending into TAP Miles&Go points at generous rates and offering a sizable welcome bonus. A few days later, Brazilian banks Itaú and Nubank rolled out new promotions linked to the LATAM Pass loyalty program. Itaú introduced a Black Mastercard that awards up to ~~70,000~~ 70 000 bonus miles based on spending thresholds, while Nubank’s Ultravioleta card added an automated “Modo LATAM Pass” that transfers points weekly, adds a permanent 10 % mileage bonus, and helps earn elite Qualifying Points. Later in July, Nubank launched a dedicated “LATAM Pass” mode on its Ultravioleta card. When activated in the app, points earned at the standard 2.2 points per US$ (up to 9 points on airline purchases) are automatically transferred to LATAM Pass each week, receive the 10 % mileage bonus and raise the effective conversion to about 2.42 miles per dollar, while also contributing Qualifying Points toward elite status. The promotion runs alongside Itaú’s LATAM Pass Mastercard Black offer, which continues to grant up to 70 000 bonus miles for new cardholders meeting R$30 000 or R$60 000 spending thresholds within the first three billing cycles. Together, these developments illustrate a broader push by airlines and financial institutions to deepen mileage‑earning opportunities for Brazilian travelers, blending network expansion with enhanced credit‑card incentives.
