In late July 2026 the Federal Police confronted Supreme Court minister André Mendonça over expanded judicial oversight of Operation Sem Desconto, the probe into alleged billions‑worth fraud at the INSS, and the minister also opened an inquiry into President Lula’s son, Fábio Luís Lula da Silva.
