The Brazilian motorcycle market continues to expand in 2026, driven by rising sales and professional demand. Following a 12.37% increase in registrations during the first seven months of the year, Abraciclo projects a year-end total of 2.3 million licensed units. Recent data shows a record 980,095 new motorcycle registrations in the first five months, a 15.3% increase. Total motorcycle production grew by 10.1% to 932,522 units, with high-displacement models (above 450 cm³) seeing a 41.9% production increase between January and May. Production in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM) is also rising. In September 2026, motorcycle production reached 186,758 units, a 10.4% year-over-year increase and the highest September level since 2011. Cumulative production from January to September reached 1,645,034 units, the highest volume for this period since 2008. Consequently, Abraciclo has upwardly revised its 2026 production forecast to 2.1 million units. While September sales saw a slight dip, year-to-date registrations have increased by 10.5%, and exports have grown by 23.7%. Honda remains the market leader, recently reaching a milestone of 33 million motorcycles produced in Brazil. To modernize operations, Honda plans to invest R$ 1.6 billion by 2029. Parallel to the motorcycle surge, the electric bicycle segment is expanding rapidly. Electric bicycle production in Manaus grew by 85.7% in the first nine months of 2026, accounting for approximately 22.8% of total bicycle production in the region. Additionally, KTM has inaugurated a new factory in Manaus to produce off-road and street motorcycles, targeting 3,000 units this year and doubling that output in 2027.
