The Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) has implemented updates regarding tax reporting obligations and official communication channels. Initial focus was placed on the EFD-Reinf (Digital Bookkeeping of Retentions and Other Tax Information) submission deadline for July 2026 data, which was set for August 17, 2026. This system is integrated with DCTFWeb and is used for reporting tax retentions and events not covered by eSocial. Accounting professionals have been advised to verify all documents and retentions prior to the deadline, as errors or omissions in EFD-Reinf transmissions can directly impact tax debt calculations and declarations. Subsequent regulatory updates via Technical Note 04/2026 introduced adjustments to EFD-Reinf version 2.1.2 tables. These changes included the creation of new Income Nature Codes (CNR) to account for payments resulting from State or District Court decisions and commissions paid by legal entities to digital platforms for commercial mediation. Additionally, Ordinance RFB No. 720/2026 formally recognized the e-Editais system as an official electronic platform for publishing specific acts, such as Executive Declaratory Acts and summons notices, though it does not replace mandatory publications in the Official Gazette.
