In late July 2026, Brazilian employers began emphasizing soft skills and digital payroll credit as automation and AI took over routine accounting tasks. Recruiters valued emotional intelligence, collaboration and adaptability, while the new digital Carteira de Trabalho platform gave workers real‑time access to credit offers, widening financial inclusion. By early August, the focus on specialized expertise intensified. During São Paulo Climate Week, a study by the Observatório Nacional da Indústria and the Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI) identified 16 critical professional profiles for Brazil’s low‑carbon transition by 2035. Key roles include Corporate Decarbonisation Managers and Green-Hydrogen Managers. CNI specialist Marcello Pio noted that while ESG management courses have expanded, competencies in areas like AI applications for sustainability and carbon-market expertise remain “under‑served.” Recent data from Novo Caged reveals a significant contraction in leadership roles, with 322,000 management vacancies eliminated between 2020 and 2025 due to digitalization. By mid-to-late August, training initiatives expanded to address these shifts. The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Rede Mulher Empreendedora introduced AI training for female entrepreneurs, including 5,000 slots with specific provisions for Black women. The Ministry of Education (MEC) launched free AI courses for teachers via the Avamec platform. Private sector efforts included Nubank opening AI and data internships, and Vale expanding technical internships to over 450 positions. Regional programs like the “Aprendiz Tech” in Marabá and Sebrae’s support for small businesses in Ceará-Mirim also emerged. In September, the focus on technical research and green energy intensified. The Instituto Euvaldo Lodi (IEL) and ICT Itaú launched significant research scholarships, while Agibank and Instituto Eldorado continued their AI Native Developer training. Additionally, the Pronatec program introduced ‘green vacancies’ in wind and solar energy across the North and Ceará, alongside specialized biogas training in Bahia. Further expansion of vocational opportunities continued in early September.
